This IDF filter is the best that I've used, and I've seen them all. The chromed sheet metal ones have a tendency to crack and break over time due to vibration. The other billet filters have a top plate that attaches with wing nuts which I've found to loosen over time due to vibration. This unit has a large contact surface area because of the taper head screws that hold down the top plate. More surface = more friction = no loosening. My only gripe... I ordered this item thinking it was a pair, but received only one. Now I have to re-order and wait for the second one.
